Merry merry

From Here to there and there to here...
This is about one year ago.

Jess and I wish you all the Merriest of all Merries. We are here at our new apartment far from the discontent of twins and eccentric cheese ladies. It is with great happiness and excitement that we are moving in all of our crap and having daily arguments about furniture arrangements(if she asks you if it is alright to have3e a couch away from the wall say yes!). We have quite a few boxes to go and one trip back to the old place to get the last of our crap and we will be done.
My level of preparedness for this holiday is minimal. I had to really stretch to get actual things for Jess to open tomorrow. We are going to have to exchange pictures of things we are making for each other tomorrow as we both have procrastinated.
Since there is no way Jess will read this before I give the picture of here Christmas gift future is I will tell you my special secret blog admirers. I am going to enlist the help of my extremely talented friend Peter to help me make a lamp for Jess to use sewing. I am going to design it and Pete will make it for us. Yes my friends he does take other commissions. You should write me or leave a comment on my blog if you want an amazing and perfect piece of furniture made. Here is a picture of a lamp he made after being inspired by a frank Lloyd wright show at the museum.

So anyways the thing I have in mind is a sweeping arch that comes out of the rafters at the new place to rest just above jess' sewing desk. I will have to talk to Pete about the feasibility about the project as a whole since I really have no fing clue. Well to all those I love I Wish you a merry Christmas. I apologise for any gifts I have not bought or sent. It has been a verry-gardella busy Christmas what with the move and all.

Arsonist in Portland Maine nearly kills two of my Neighbors

Last night I was reminded of why Jess and I are moving. At two in the morning firetruck lights and smoke woke jess who in turn woke me up. Two doors up the second floor of an apartment building was engulfed in smoke and fire. The very brave firefighters put it out quickly... We never have really thought about how brave they are but seeing them climb up narrow ladders three stories high into smoke struck a chord.
A cat died, two were hospitalized, and the whole second floor of the apartment was ruined. The people who lived inside will have to be in shelters for a good long time. It looks like the two other fires started last night minutes before on park street were related. They all were started in the main doorways of the would be victems homes. There were cameras on park street hopefully this bastard is put away for a long time. It appears they were out to do some damage to the people inside the buildings not just the buildings themselves.

Completely disorganized

these pictures reflect the chaos that I bring to my own life. They are totally out of chronological order so viewers they will have to enjoyed by their own merit.

Well...

It has been a week or so things have changed. We are moving at the end of this month. The place we are going to is smaller but is set up in a way which will make more room in the end. The possiblities for the new place are endless. Exposed beams in a great room are going to hopefully lead to the fruition of my dream: to have swings in my living room. jess is resistant but she knows RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!
Jess is working on some fanastic new goods for the fair at space on the 12th of december. If you are in need of christmas goods check it out. There are things there that will shock and or amaze you.
Thanksgiving was a trifector. We ate a heritage turkey at 7pm on thanksgiving eve at my parents house. The next day we went to ann and petes for the big fanily thanksgiving. It was a twelve pie evening and a billion star meal. The turkey was huge (twenty eight pounds) and over-night brine soaking made it succulent to say the least.
Our third lovely meal was at Jess' mother's home with a lovely turkey and all the fixin's. We are still chipping away at the leftovers.

Well it has been a long time

Much has happened since I last had time to blog. The news that has dominated our humble family is of course the bathroom construction. I have made my inner peace with the landlady knowing that all the weirdness she has imparted on us comes back to her three fold. Also Jess told me to get off of it so I have really focused on not thinking about it and have succeeded up until now.
Picture this my readers, you live in Portland, a fair city, you pay high rent to have a nice well kept place. This happens for some time, then problems start happening. As tension grows your bathroom becomes a construction site. There is all of a sudden no bathroom for you to use and the landlady has offered hers but it is in her bedroom. We are not thrilled. Lovely readers, do what you can to ask around and find a place within two miles of downtown Portland we can move to. We would love to by a house but if our current situation becomes much worse we will be forced to find a new apt.
All is well with the b oy. He is growing almost to big for the ergo. I take him almost every morning to see Olive and he is spitten giving her hus and head pats often.

Things that I love and things that I hate.

I really love trips to the beach with excellent sandwiches and Eliot and Jess. I love kids in rediculous costumes that make them look like stuffed animals. I love good cafes with great menus and children's areas. I hate leaving the beach to go to work. I hate the word organic when it is used as a brand (I bought Organic Dogshit). I hate waiting to have to tell you and show you what I will be in for Halloween.
Missed a great photo oppertunity today with the elderly. Probably one of my most tasteless work pranks. There was a costume party tonight and I dressed up as death and went down in the middle of it and started pointing at people. It was not long before I had hijacked the attention of the fifty or so ninety year olds. They all looked relatively horrified and offened. The activities lady came over and dragged me up to the front of the room. She pushed me out to the middle of the room thinking I would just dance around alone. I had different plans. I turned on her and pointed at her then dragged him out and forced her to dance a rediculous dance with death.
