Home Sweet Home

This is a pisture of the house I grew up in on Storey St. Boy, the more things changed the more they stayed the same. Strip mall after strip mall, Augusta can't seem to get enough. Thank you target for getting us out of there when you did.

Last weekend was fun. I took and extra day off with the family and enjoyed it immensely. I wish I could do that more often. The work has me over a barrel most of the time these days. they are threatening layoffs but in an underhanded way. They will not let me switch back and forth between 32 and 40 hours and consequently are pissing me off. I can't wait to be a nurse. Then I will have the administration more where I want them: as administrators rather than despots.

Hello all my lovely friends and family. I am having a great night. Just visited with Clara who is due with her second baby in three weeks. She looks great and Simon is really charming. he and Eliot kept us busy and amused for quite some time with their shinannegins. They did not get along all that well. Eliot was kind of in Simon's space to much and was way grabby. It resulted in a whole lot of crying once the two reached tired land.
Jess and I had all day to enjoy our rare family time. She is headed off to bed soon and I am going to meet up with Dave over at this thing they are doing at the big hotel down of wharf street. it is called and ice bar and apparently is quite cool. They make a whole bar out of ice and use it to chill the drinks. I will post pics of it tomorrow so any of you in the area can see if it is your thing.
Last week went by in a flash. I worked and took today off so I worked one less day this time around. It is great to toss one of those in every now and then. I hope all of you are having great times as well. I( perhaps will update this very evening if there is any ice induced hilarity. toodles

Chester Copperfield Eat Your Heart Out

Children creating mayhem

The Problem with working late shift.

So it is eleven o'clock on friday and i just got o9ut of work. It is beautiful out and no doubt all of my little buddies are out as well. The asshole cabbies are out hollering at each other across the street and of course the drunk idiots are hollering.
They are hollering because they drank a deafening amount of beer and can't handle their booze.
They holler to prove they are manly.
They holler to insight my wrath.
They holler to make me want a slingshot and frozen grapes of wrath.
Most of all they holler because they do not want to be suspected of being sissies.
I should go out and tell them it is OK. I have been a sissy my whole life and I am alright with it. I have been robbed of the opportunity to beat the living shit out of other yellers but non-the-less I turned out alright. My boy is cute and I have a great "fancy". We are happy and are at least marginally good parents.

Portland Maine sends a clear message to Pedestrians: f___ you!

Portland has sent an amazingly clear message to its residents who prefer to travel by foot. After years of fighting with slum-landlords over how to get the sidewalks clean the city has finally has made its decision in lieu of the recent proposed fine system. Instead of implementing a system encouraging clear sidewalks for pedestrian travel, Portland has chosen to instead back a F--- pedestrians proposal favored since the invention of automobiles.
Despite recent irrational public interest in primitive "walking" the city has opted to lead the public towards the more civilized form of transit the auto car and SUV. They plan to do this as soon as possible by not enforcing ordinances that would fine slumlords who make no attempt to plow the sidewalks for such "Walkers" to travel on. In combination with creating as little green space for such bipeds to travel as possible the city hopes to make all places inside of its limits "vehicle accessible"

Pictured above is a spawn of the primitive bipeds who favor foot travel. Here the youngster awaits his Sherpas to carry him over Mt. Pleasant St, an artificially made mountain constructed with the snow off a glorious parking lot for the Holiday Inn

Immensly Talented Friends

I am so very fortunate to have friends who can make things like this.

Ms Lulu's Portland, Maine

They are by far one of the coolest baby clothing stores I have seen, it is a very neat spot. Super baby friendly and the staff is helpful too. Their location at 3 Gold Street in the old Port is less than ideal however but with a web presence it is going to be easier generating new customers. Word of mouth goes so far when the city you live in is so small. In Portland people need to have web presence to make things happen. I hope this great little stores' web site will bring them traffic to be sure.

New Place Starting to Take Shape.

This week will be a week of hagning things on the walls and possibly more painting. I am looking forward to getting Jess hooked up with a craft table so she can continue to amaze the craft world with her knack for clothing sass.
Talking with the old landlady went well today. I think she and I have the not so unique trait of overreacting then cooling down over time. If I was really clever I would remove my wrathful posts but I am not and it is good to be reminded of my imperfections. At any rate I am expecting to get a substantial part of our security deposit back. If not there is always court I guess but that just seems so sad right now as her and I used to hang out. Portland makes it really hard to have such negative relationships in. Everyone knows everyone and for that reason there are very few secrets.

Life is Good Over in the West End: A Return to the Homeland

Jess, Eliot, and I triuphantly returned to the homeland of the West End today for first Sunday brunch. It was fun. Brian, Stephanie, and Coleen had once again outdone themselves preparing almost enough bacon to satiate my constant hunger for pig flesh. They also hosted the party like a bunch of pros, they are the lead party throwers when it comes to brunches that turn into lunches. I heard one of their storied parties began by catching the outgoing party of brunchers from Daves then returning it later that day to make beer.
Eliot was his usual charming self making his presence known by blasting the stereo every now and then and of course flirting with everyone. He must get that from his grand parents, it obviously was not expressed in my genetics. He ate like a pig all day and ran in circles when he began getting over stimulated. It was great fun trying to dive through non-children havers to catch up with him. I think I caught some of them giving me dirty looks but Eliot won them all over in the end. His cuteness reigns supreme.

Kim is frikin nuts

Nice day with Jess trumps two weeks of hell dealing with slumlord

Eliot doing his impression of his father after he fogets to take his meds.

We had a fun day today just chilling out with the boy. Played around the house all morning and then went out to take some stuff back to s Portland. it was just what the doctor ordered. We really need to just have this whole move behind us.
Our amazing friends just had their baby. We are hoping to get over to help them with stuff soon. I am thinking tomorrow after Brian's brunch we will be able to do something for them. It will be great to see the baby although I am always a bit apprehensive about any kind of contact when i work where I work. I will just have to blow kisses I guess. I hope the old ladies know what I am giving up to drug them out.
Jess and I tried to watch a semi intellectual movie this evening and gave up ten minutes in. It was based on shakespear and on account of my retardation I could not for the life of me remember the significance of anything that was being said. Thanks for nothing cony high. Mr robbins, you suck! Any way I will have more to complain about tomorrow, tonight it is off for wings if I can round up a posse. Take care you princes of maine and pharaohs of Egypt or whatever

The stress getting to me

Man is not meant to deal with his stress in civilized ways. I can feel my primal roots wanting to deal with things their own way on weeks like this. For those of you who do not know Jess and I have moved. We have a lovely new place with water views and quietness at night. Eliot is sleeping better but waiting to hear from our old landlady is keeping me from sleep. I am enraged at what she is doing and am furious she has even a penny of ours right now. If I had it my way she would have not gotten last months rent and we would have received a notice of eviction from her rather than have to deal with her brand of insanity. She sent us a note today telling use we are going to be held accountable for a fridge component that was never there and another that was cracked before we arrived. She went on to tell us how very disappointed she was in the state of her kitchen. She had the balls to say this after we had to scrape stuff that looked like explosive diarrhea off the walls and clear out used condoms from her drawers when we moved in. I am furious. I see her getting sued in the very near future if she continues to stress me out.
For the last ten years I have worked in the not for profit sector to take care of the people who are not so fortunate economically, socially, or because they are suffering from physical handicaps. I make very little money doing this and this lady who now operates only out of entitlement is trying to squeeze as much of 1300 dollars as possible. It is so fucking unjust.

Feeling majorly guilty about thinking that guy looks like tim

We have moved in our physical objects yet they have yet to take on an actual form. That is fancy for, we have piles we live in and around.
jess and I have been doing our best to get things put away. I have a work bench from my parents and a new set of drawers that roll and store things from my parents and my aunt peggy. It makes me want to make things. Today for instance i was hanging out with dave and sasha helping them return jewelry and noticed some fetching post and beam type racks that would look way cool in our new pad. It is this kind of thinking that is going to erupt into lots of half assed handy man work. Hopefully Pete will guide me through how to undo what I have done.
Christmas and New Years were lovely. I spent loads of time with Jess and even stayed home for the new year. It was fantastic. who would have thunk it? Family trumps partying? It is a tribute to the power of my jess and eliot. They are dang swell.
Happy new years every one and as the wise man once said,"Listen to me because I am smart and have lots of fancy words which can verify my smart-y-pantedness."

A new winner in the tim look alike contest

Don't take this the wrong way tim. imitaion is the most sincere form of flattery
